The title tag is the clickable headline that appears in Google search results. It's one of the most important on-page SEO elements, directly influencing click-through rates and rankings for your target keywords.
Aim for 50–60 characters. Titles longer than approximately 580px wide (typically around 60 characters) are truncated in Google results with an ellipsis, so your key message should appear early.
The meta description is the short summary shown beneath your title in search results. While it doesn't directly affect rankings, a compelling description significantly improves click-through rates from the search results page.
Keep meta descriptions between 120–160 characters. Anything longer is truncated in search results and may not convey your full message to potential visitors.
Google may rewrite your title or description based on the page content and the user's search query. The preview shows how your specified tags would appear; Google's actual display may vary depending on the search context.
